In our previous post we interviewed Colin Beveridge, the Chief Investment Officer for True Potential. This week we’d like to introduce you to those members of our committee who are independent of True Potential. It is the responsibility of these four members to ensure that our funds adhere to their investment objectives, perform as envisaged and that they are in accordance with the respective client risk profiles.

George Peebles

George has amassed a wealth of experience during his career which has seen him spend over 30 years in both law and accountancy. During this time, he has worked as Development Director for Aegon where he was responsible for some of the largest deals they put together. Prior to this, he worked in finance roles within a major accountancy practice.

Now, George is a Non-Executive who specialises in mergers and acquisitions all of which is helpful in terms of being attentive to detail and commercial awareness.

Russell Hogan

Russell too is an expert in his field, namely the investment management industry. During his career he has spent 17 years at Aegon where he had the prestigious titles of both Chief Investment Officer and Chief Executive Officer. In these roles he was responsible for over £33billion funds under management.

Russell is currently a Managing Partner of Dundas Global in which he specialises in global equity investment. At Dundas Russell is building a business with a global client base growing fast in the US, Canada and Australia. This gives him a broad international perspective which is incredibly valuable to us.

David Keir

David originally trained with KPMG to become a Chartered Accountant. He then spent four years at Edinburgh Fund Managers before becoming the former Head of Research at Scottish Widows for the UK equities division. David is a highly respected research analyst and CFA Charter Holder.

David is now Head of Research at Saracen Fund Managers where he is responsible for Global Equities. His specialisation is company analysis giving him detailed knowledge of the type of company valuation techniques deployed by our directly invested managers who pick stocks on an active basis.

As you can see, our independent Investment Committee members come from a range of backgrounds, including investment management, advisory practice and client advocates. The variety of expertise they bring to the table is exponential. By using this blend of proficiency, they’re able to make robust decisions that ensure we put our investors first.
