True Potential has been profiled by Insider Magazine as part of a regular series of features focusing on fast-growing companies.
Below is an excerpt:
True Potential has grown rapidly since being established in 2007 and managing partner David Harrison says there is no sign that the pace will slow despite a changing marketplace.
Harrison, a veteran of the financial services industry, founded the Newcastle-headquartered adviser network two years after leaving Positive Solutions, a company he built and then sold to multinational insurer AEGON in 2002.
The group now comprises True Potential Investments, True Potential Wealth Management and True Potential Adviser Services. It provides technology and business support to about 22 per cent of the UK independent financial adviser (IFA) market, plus financial advisory services for private individuals.
Harrison says the company’s technology allows investors to get personal financial information about their assets on their mobiles or laptops, while more than 800 adviser firms use its services.
In the year to 31 December 2012, True Potential posted a 57 per cent increase in pre-tax profit to £3.6m, while turnover jumped from £8.4m to £13m. Strong growth was experienced by its wealth management and investment business.
